Exploration

Each day we let the outdoors become our classroom. Spending time exploring nature allows us to connect with the environment and world around us.​

Our days will be shaped by the Learner's desire to explore. As we become comfortable with our space we will begin to create a deeper level of understanding and a more sustainable relationship with our surroundings.

It is then we can truly develop the layers of our classroom. As a place-based learning environment we are able to pull in educational components surrounding literacy, math, science, geography, art, and music. We share ideas, develop imaginative play and discover that learning is fun.

With Virginia State Standards of Learning to guide us, our classroom environment is much different than a traditional setting. We meet our Learners at their level and develop curriculum to meet their learning needs.
